I purchased this mouse to replace the VX Nano that I used with my iBook (the Nano went to the iMac), and the V470 performed quite well, even without installing the Logitech Software (the iBook is running on OS 10.4.9). The slight delay in tracking after not using the mouse for a few minutes doesn't bother me, and it doesn't occupy one of the iBook's 2 USB Ports - all this at almost half the price of the Nano.
