Recently, I've purchased the Samsung NC10 netbook. To take advantage of the netbook's built-in bluetooth capabilities, I also purchased this Logitech V470 mouse. There is no need for us to carry along a USB wireless adapter to operate this mouse. I think that is good thing because now I don't have anything protruding out of my USB ports while carrying around the netbook. Plus, I don't have to worry about keeping track of the USB adapter if I detach it from the port. The whole idea of having a netbook is to have a highly portable device so I like having to minimize the amount of items I have to take along with my computer.

The mouse has comfortable rubber sides which feels comfortable to hold. There is a on/off button at the bottom ot the mouse to save battery life when we're done using it. Though it's been only three weeks using this, I've experienced no issues with the mouse's accuracy or battery life. It's mouse wheel can be driven in four directions. scroll the browser screen up and down by rolling the mouse vertically. Move the browser screen sideways by pressing the wheel side to side.

I actually had to buy two Bluetooth mouses/mice so it's a good comparison between this one and the Kensington Wireless Wireless Notebook Mouse.

This Logitech mouse is a lightweight mouse - even with the two AA batteries included amd installed.

Setup for a Mac could not be easier. Simply launch the BLUETOOTH SETUP in SYSTEM PREFERENCES. Click on mouse and setup and then at the appropriate time (with mouse on) click on DISCOVER underneath the mouse and the blue light will start flashing - your Mac setup should read something like DISCOVERING. Once it's paired, you are set.

Then go to the bottom of SYSTEM PREFERENCES and select the Logitech SYS PREF Controller APP. There seem to a lot of choices for configuring - frankly, a little too much - I did not really bother than adjusting the speed of the scroll wheel.

That is the one area that falls a little short in comparison to the Kensington. It scrolls a little chunkier and not quite as smooth. The Kensington also features a built-in web browser turbo scroller which may be available in the Logitech but is not auto setup - so more work is required there.

Both mice have a side hand rest area that fearures synthetic rubber - the Logitech is thinner with less material and no bevel.

The Kensington mouse is a more solid looking and more substantial feel but the Logitech is a nice optional choice depending on your wants and needs - as this mouse is lighter and is functionally fine. It's slightly less fancy and scrolls slightly slower but it is less costlier and slightly smaller and weighs less.

It's not as if the difference is night and day ... sort of like closing the door on a Mercedes versus a VW ... both fine cars, one slightly moreso (and a little costlier) so the bottom line is that personally I like the Kensington better. It's more substantial feeling, it scrolls seemingly smoother and the turbo web scrolling is great.

This mouse works great! I was a little hesitant when I read from fellow reviewers that their bluetooth connection kept dropping. However, it has been a little over a month now, with no connectivity issues whatsoever. I use this mouse for my media center, so I had to purchase a motorola USB bluetooth receiver (which may explain why I have had no connectivity issues vice using a built-in receiver fabricated into a laptop)

The response of the mouse is also fantastic! We move the mouse on our micro-fiber couch, the floor, and on a table, with hardly any discernable difference in the tracking motion. It's small enough to fit comfortably in your hand, without being so small that you have to curl your fingers to click the buttons. The included proprietary software has lots of tools to customize the tracking, speed, connectivity, and button/wheel customization. Using the connect wizard in the software makes it a breeze to setup, and works much better at keeping the connection alive and active vice connecting manually in Windows bluetooth devices. Comes with a nice travel bag to ensure you don't get any gunk on the laser lens.

I'm using this with my Eee and it works very nicely. Pairing was easy (though the software didn't do the connect wizard because I had a later version of the SetPoint software installed, forcing me to do it by hand) and the mouse just does everything on its own.

I missed having a middle button, but since the scroll wheel clicks left and right and I can map those to anything I like, I made clicking it right be my middle button, so I can open links in my browser in a new tab that way. Very efficient browsing that way. Still wish it had a middle button, though, which is why it didn't get the fifth star.

I bought this for the HP Mini 2140 I'm upgrading for a friend (larger SSD, more DRAM, software). I've only used it a few times, but, sure enough, just as I had heard from online reviews of BT mouses the first thing I noticed is the slight delay when moving the mouse after a period of inactivity. Probably less than a second, but definitely noticeable. The mouse otherwise has a good, solid feel and is a good size for lugging around with the netbook. The reason I went with a BT mouse was that it didn't occupy one of the two precious USB slots on this unit. I wanted a bluetooth mouse so that I didn't waste a USB slot... this mouse has been great so far. I've been using it for a few weeks and it has worked effortlessly with Windows XP, Vista, and Linux (Kubuntu 9.04).

I was afraid the blue color might be too bright and ugly, but it's actually a sharp looking dark blue, very nice. The product image seen on Amazon is a bit misleading I think.

The size is on the small end, but not so small as to be uncomfortable or awkward (I'm a male with average sized hands).
