Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 Right now

This is the best bluetooth mouse that I have owned. It is great not having to put in a dongle. I have to note that I had to get 2 of them. On the first one that I got the left mouse button was really hard to press, but I had that one replaced and the second one didn't have that problem. Not sure if this is a built quality issue or just a consistency issue.

One change I would like is to move both of the side buttons to the left. They are hard to press because they are located a little too high on the mouse. The smooth scrolling mouse wheel is nice as well its nice and quiet and I haven't had any problems using it.

Now for the one MAJOR FLAW of this mouse is the Intellipoint software. It is extremely inflexible when compared to Logitech's Setpoint software. You can only set the mouse buttons to certain keys, for instance if you want to set one of the side buttons to shift+delete its impossible. The software won't let you do it. Also to set a mouse button as a single key you have to use the macro feature which is pointless.

If they would allow more flexible customization with the mouse buttons then this would be a 5 star mouse.

I didn't really use the presentation modes of this mouse so I can't comment on that. Basically you press the button under the mouse wheel to enter presentation mode this disables the front buttons so that you don't accidentally press them while presenting. The laser pointer is useful to keep people and animals busy around you when you are on the computer. It feels good to hold in the hand and I imagine that controlling powerpoint with it would work as expected. The volume buttons and the presenter buttons don't work unless you are presentation mode, but the laser pointer works without being in that mode.Get more detail about Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000.
