Lowest Price Gyration Air Mouse Elite In-Air Cursor Control using Patented MotionSenseTM Technology and Optical Sensor GYM5600NA

An air mouse that you can wave in the air to control the cursor as you would a regular mouse? Now, that is a nifty concept, but is the Gyration Air Mouse all it's cracked up to be or is it all hot air?

The mouse actually falls short of expectations for me. I have a few issues with the ergonomics of the mouse:

- Strain on the Wrist to Control the Cursor
The mouse relies on the articulated movement of your wrist (i.e. up/down, side-to-side, oblique tilt of the wrist) to control the cursor. It senses the _angular_ movement rather than the directional movement of the mouse. Thus, moving the entire mouse in any direction has no effect on the movement of the cursor. Because it requires you to tilt your wrist to move the cursor, using the mouse for prolonged periods can be a real strain on your wrist. (- 1 star)

- Uncomfortable Grip/Controls
The mouse is held like a hand gun with the index finger on the "trigger" button. The thumb is used to control the left and right click buttons. The left-right buttons however requires quite a bit of reach. I also found the mouse uncomfortable to grip on to because it isn't molded to conform to the hand. (- 0.5 star)

- Maximum Speed/Acceleration of the Cursor Too Slow
A flick of the wrist isn't enough to traverse the cursor across my entire screen (1680 x 1050). I need repeat movements of my wrist even with the speed/acceleration of the cursor set at maximum.

In all other respects, the mouse works flawlessly. The range is quite good (I tested it at 15 feet - the mouse is very responsive). The air mouse can, of course, double as a regular mouse, so you can use it in the traditional way on a mouse pad.

The mouse has plenty of buttons that you can customize to suit your needs. Besides the left-right click buttons, the mouse has a scroll wheel, 4 other buttons, and a "trigger" button on the buttom of the mouse.

The movement of the mosue is quite fluid. The resolution of the mosue isn't specified but 600 dpi would be my guess - not very impressive by any means, but perfectly adequate for most applications nonethelsss.

---
The main complaint I have with the Gyration Air Mouse is with the means by which the cursor is controlled (angular movement of the wrist). It can be a strain on your wrist if you're using it to control the movement of the cursor for long periods. Regardless, I'd say the Gyration Air Mouse is a very usable device. Just keep in mind it's most practical and ideal for applications where the need to move the cursor is minimal.

Save Sony VAIO VGP-BMS33/P Bluetooth Optical Mouse for Pink SR Series(Pink)

I absolutely LOVE this mouse! It is not only beautiful, functionable, and a pleasure to use, it also matches my SR series Sony laptop perfectly. The mouse is sleek and very responsive; the Bluetooth feature works well. The battery life is also very good; I have been using it for nearly a month now with the same set of batteries that was packaged with it; just remember to turn it off when not in use. An excellent product!Get more detail about Sony VAIO VGP-BMS33/P Bluetooth Optical Mouse for Pink SR Series(Pink).

Discount Apple Mighty Mouse

I've had two of these fail in less than a month, for a $50 mouse, that's dismal. I have a $10 Macally two button mouse that is going to last forever, but it doesn't have a scroll ball, just the standard wheel.
Apple screwed the pooch big time on the mighty mouse, the scroll ball has the functional lifespan of a snowball in hell. Within a week or two under normal conditions, the little rollers inside the ball mechanism get gummed up with human detritus and the scroll ball stops working, usually in the down direction, the most used and needed function, of course.
I cleaned mine, from the outside, doesn't work for longer than a few hours or a day or so. Cleaned it from the inside, removing the trim ring, disassembling the ribbon cables, removing the ball mechanism, cleaning the rollers. That lasted another week or two, a couple times, then it kept getting worse, cleaning multiple times a day, then it stopped working. The ribbon cables and connectors are not made to be worked on.
I'd say the mighty mouse is worth less than $10. Get more detail about Apple Mighty Mouse.

Cheap Logitech LX3 Optical Mouse Blue--Special Edition

For the price, you can't beat the quality of this Logitech mouse. Bought one for the computer at work, which is a PC, and liked it so much that I bought a second one that I use for my Mac at home. Buying Microsoft Arc Mouse (Blue)

The 2 year old ripped out half of the keys from my laptop, so I bought a Microsoft Wireless 3000 v.2 keyboard and a Logitech VX Revolution mouse as a temporary fix. Very nice. The baby then threw away the dongle for my Logitech VX Revolution Mouse. (I shouldn't have left it out!) So, I needed a new mouse. Times are a bit tough, so I didn't want to spring for a new Logitech (and hope I find the missing dongle) and found this one on sale for $20 at Frys Electronics.

I have bought several Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse combinations over the last year and have returned them all. The keyboards are nice, but the mice have all had somehing objectionale, from poor ergonomics to poorly placed buttons. This mouse is the first from m/s which I have liked in some time. It is stylish, light, has a good feel under my hand, and the price was right. It is just slightly larger than the Logitech, but slightly smaller than a full sized mouse. It folds in half and can be placed in the fake suede carrying case which comes with it. The small dongle plugs into a standard USB port. It has very good resolution and the two AAA batteries should last about six months. It has a battery meter on the top.

On the negative side, this is a basic mouse and does not have quite enough in the way of buttons for the retail price. It has the standarde two main buttons, a single back navigation button, and the scroll wheel only has a single side-function. The back-navigation button is placed too far forward on the mouse and does not rest under my thumb.

I prefer the Logitech for ergonomics and functionality. This mouse looks great, has high resolution, great portability and is a good value for the price I paid. Get more detail about Microsoft Arc Mouse (Blue).

Pro Click Mobile Bluetooth Wireless Notebook Mouse for Mac/PC--Sugar Pink

I set up my grade school daughter on an older laptop with Ubuntu 9.10 Linux. I used Linux, obviously, so she can't get in trouble and mess up the computer with adware/spyware/malware/viruses. My daughter always preferred to borrow my wife's corded mouse when she used her laptop, as the trackpad is just not that comfortable. Corded mice and laptops (actually anything plugged into USB ports) make me nervous, especially with kids. I can just imagine the plugs/dongles getting banged, and having a USB port broken, or worse. As luck would have it, even though the laptop is older (IBM R50), it has built in Bluetooth. So I bought this mouse because it is Bluetooth AND red. (Girls usually want red). Ubuntu recognized the mouse right out of the box and worked immediately. No drivers required. No muss, no fuss. This mouse is just the right size for smaller hands. Top side of the mouse has a soft, matte, feel. I am giving it not quite a full 5 stars, because the bottom side of the mouse has a shiny, toy-like look. If the bottom side was perhaps a different texture, I would give a full 5 star rating. If you are running Ubuntu Linux, I highly recommend this mouse.Get more detail about Pro Click Mobile Bluetooth Wireless Notebook Mouse for Mac/PC--Sugar Pink.
