This mouse requires you to re-connect every time the receiver is unplugged or when the computer is shut off. Battery drain is also very high and will need replacement in a matter of days. Really nice product--so easy to click and scroll. Works great with my iMac. In fact, I find it easier to use than the original mouse that came with the computer (I think they call that one the Mighty Mouse) because the MacAlly IceMouse doesn't have the tiny scroll ball. I did like the tiny scroll ball of the Mighty Mouse when I first got my computer, but, after I used it for awhile, I found that it would fail to operate unless I turned the mouse upside down and rolled it furiously, back and forth, to get it going again. Finally, it just failed to work altogether. The larger, more traditional scroll wheel on this MacAlly Ice Mouse, although not as innovative as the tiny scroll wheel, seems like it will be more durable and reliable over the course of time than was the tiny ball of the Mighty Mouse. The white color is attractive and fits in with the color and design of my Mac.

Blake and Brian. use caution when buying and installing new hardware and software. i have, admittedly, girly hands for an adult male, so this fits me just fine. most male humans 16+yrs will have to compensate for this piece. the default hardware setting for the buttons is: trigger=L mouse; sub-trigger=R mouse; up/top thumb=NavPREV; down/bottom thumb=NavFWD; wheel button= wheel button. resolution is as described without software. mouse is well constructed with good "frictionless" feet. you will need a much bigger mousepad, but if your a gamer you should already have that(or a drafter).

Finally, a mouse that does what I want. This mouse has the usual right and left click buttons with a mouse wheel. This wheel not only rolls, it tilts right and left to act like two more buttons and can be pressed down to act like a third button. Then there are the two additional side buttons (e.g. forward and backward). It is called a five button mouse, but it is more like a seven button mouse. I have been unable to find another mouse that does all that this one does, and is reliable and easy to use. The only down side is it is an optical mouse, not a laser mouse, so it is not as precise in its movements as a laser mouse. But with a bit of care and patience, I can still make my one pixel tweaks on artwork.

Caution: this mouse will not perform well unless you get the Dell Mouse Suite software to drive it. The Mouse Suite software lets you configure the buttons to do what you want.
